That player is Brent Sopel, who has openly admitted that he and his teammates knew about the incident at the time it occurred. He also states that he spoke with senior management at the time and believed them that they would do something about it. On Friday, he took to his personal Twitter page and wrote a long statement with his thoughts on how the entire incident has played out.
It is also worth noting that during his interview with TSN's Rick Westhead, Beach thanked both Sopel along with another former Blackhawk in Nick Boynton, who has also stated that everyone in the dressing room knew of the situation at the time. It is great to see that both Sopel and Boynton are sticking up for Beach and have been for some time now, considering many others seem to be trying to distance themselves from it.
