Top NHL Insider Pierre LeBrun Hints at the Next New York Rangers Trade
The top NHL insider Pierre LeBrun hinted at the New York Rangers' next trade in a recent intervention on TSN.
The New York Rangers traded their captain Jacob Trouba to the Anaheim Ducks over two weeks ago, but results on the ice are yet to come for Chris Drury's team.
Drury made another important move by sending Kaapo Kakko to the Seattle Kraken, and many other changes seem to be looming for the organization.
Insider Pierre LeBrun revealed that the team is poised to make more moves by the trade deadline, and went as far as saying the team is the biggest disappointment of the season in the NHL.
"Ever since the news leaked of Drury messaging other GMs about Kreider and Trouba being available, the Rangers are 0-3-9. If MSG's intent with that leak was to shake up and wake up the team, it clearly did not work. It went the other way. The team is in disarray, not on the same page, and it feels like those players don't enjoy coming to work every day. So no, I don't think Drury is done."
After falling to the sixth rank in the Metropolitan Division, the Rangers could end up in the last rank of their division. If they can't win on Sunday against the Carolina Hurricanes or Monday against the New Jersey Devils, and the Columbus Blue Jackets beat the Montreal Canadiens tomorrow, both the Islanders and the Blue Jackets, who are seventh and eighth in the division, could surpass the Blueshirts in the rankings.
The team doesn't have much time to get back on the right track. But with a little help from Drury on the trade market, anything could happen.
