Sunday at 5 PM ET was the deadline for NHL restricted free agents who weren't happy with the qualifying offers from their teams to file for arbitration. That's provided they had arbitration right, of course. That deadline has not passed and we've learned that there are 17 RFAs who have opted to go to binding arbitration if a new offer isn't forthcoming before then. Here's the complete list:

Zach Aston-Reese (Pittsburgh Penguins), Ross Colton (Tampa Bay Lightning), Andrew Copp (Winnipeg Jets), Neal Pionk (Winnipeg Jets), Jason Dickinson (Vancouver Canucks), Vince Dunn (Seattle Kraken), Jakub Vrana (Detroit Red Wings), Adam Erne (Detroit Red Wings), Juuse Saros (Nashville Predators), Dante Fabbro (Nashville Predators), Dennis Gilbert (Colorado Avalanche), Adin Hill (San Jose Sharks), Michael McNiven (Montreal Canadiens), Victor Mete (Ottawa Senators), Adam Pelech (New York Islanders), Zach Sanford (St. Louis Blues), Nikita Zadorov (Calgary Flames).

The arbitration hearings are scheduled to take place over the next coming weeks. Players and teams are still free to negotiate during that time. If a deal cannot be reached, each side will present what they believe the salary should be. The arbitrator will then make a decision, which is binding.

As noted by Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman, only one team had filed for arbitration in an RFA case, and that was the Boston Bruins with Brendan Carlo. However, the two sides have since agreed to terms on a six-year deal.
