The Seattle Kraken acquired Daniel Sprong earlier in the season from a division rival, but now, they're placing the 27-year old veteran on waivers in a shock move after a disappointing 10 games with the team thus far.

Back in November, the Vancouver Canucks pulled off a shock trade as they sent Daniel Sprong to a division rival in the Seattle Kraken, for whom he played two seasons between 2021 and 2023.

After playing just 10 games with the Kraken, Sprong is now potentially on the move again, as Seattle announced via social media that the 27-year old veteran has officially been placed on waivers.

While this may come as a surprise to many, Sprong hasn't exactly set the world alight in his 10 games with the Kraken, as he has posted just 1 goal and 2 points during that time, accounting for a +1 goal differential.

Unfortunately, he just hasn't produced at a level the team were expecting, as he posted a career high of 46 points with the Kraken back in 2021/22, with the team hoping he could replicate that success this time around.

Given that two teams have moved on from him, there are questions surrounding Sprong in the locker room, and while nothing has been made public yet, that's certainly something to ponder.

Although he's just 27, Sprong has been in the NHL for a decade now, and in that time he's played in 383 games between Pittsburgh, Anaheim, Washington, Seattle, Detroit and Vancouver.

Now, we will wait and see whether a third NHL team wants to take a chance on the former second-round draft pick this season, or whether or not he will head to the AHL and try to earn himself another NHL deal moving forward, but for now, things aren't looking good for the once promising forward.
