The Dallas Stars have come to terms with restricted free agent Joel Kiviranta on a two-year deal. The 25-year-old will carry an annual cap hit of $1.05 million over the next two seasons.

Kiviranta ran into some injury issues last season and managed just 26 games in the regular season. He recorded six goals and 11 points over the span.

"Joel has developed into a very reliable player who can play various roles throughout the lineup," Jim Nill, the Stars' general manager, said in a statement. "His competitiveness, and ability to play in all situations, has made him an important member of our forward group."

Kiviratna played in his home country of Finland for several years, going undrafted, before signing a two-year entry level contract with Dallas in 2019.
