The Detroit Red Wings have locked up RFA winger Tyler Bertuzzi on Saturday to a two-year deal worth a total of $9.5M (a $4.75M AAV).

Bertuzzi missed almost the entire 2020-21 season after suffering a back injury which required surgery and limited him to just 9 games. As of this point, Bertuzzi has yet to even resume skating.

The Sudbury, Ontario native had a career-high 48 points in 71 games in 2019-20, tying a season-high 21 goals from the 2018-19 season.

Bertuzzi, 26, will be an unrestricted free agent when his new contract expires in the summer of 2023.
