There are likely a lot of relieved people in Russia right now after Alexander Pechursky, who had not been seen for two weeks, was reportedly found alive and safe. Pechursky, 31, disappeared between the 10th and 13th of July after leaving his home in Magnitogorsk. Until last night, nothing was known about his whereabouts.

The Search and Rescue group that found Pechursky has not said where he was discovered or why he went missing, only that he's been found alive.

Sport-Express.Ru reports that Pechursky has been experiencing financial troubles and even sold some of the medals he won playing hockey recently.

Pechursky was drafted 150th overall by PIttsburgh in 2008. He would only play in one game for the team, coming in as relief for John Curry when both Marc-Andre Fleury and Brent Johnson were injured. That night, he became the first Russian goaltender to play for the Penguins.

Pechursky also spent time with the Tri-City Americans of the WHL and the MIssissipi River Kings of the CHL before returning to Russia. He won the Gagarin Cup as a member of Metallurg Magnitogorsk in 2014.
