Ondrej Kase has a new home for the 2021-22 season. The Toronto Maple Leafs have announced they've signed Kase to a one-year deal worth $1.25 million.

While essentially a depth signing, there is some risk. Kase has played in just 9 games over the last two regular seasons with the Boston Bruins, although he did take part in 11 games during the 2019-20 playoffs. He's had at least one concussion and there's plenty of speculation he suffered another. However, it was only ever referred to as an upper-body injury by the team.

Kase, 25, went undrafted but signed an entry-level contract with the Anaheim Ducks in 2015. He's played a total of 207 NHL games, scoring 43 goals and totalling 97 points.
