Corey Perry inks a multi-year deal with Tampa Bay

After losing to them in back-to-back Stanley Cup Finals, veteran forward Corey Perry has decided to join the Tampa Bay Lightning. According to Kevin Weekes of ESPN, the Tampa Bay Lightning have signed Corey Perry to a two-year contract. The annual cap hit is $1 million.

Perry, 36, spent the 2020-21 season with the Montreal Canadiens after signing with them in late-December. In 49 games during the regular season, Perry had 21 points (9 G, 12 A), 39 penalty minutes, and was a -4. The Peterborough, Ontario native played a key role in helping the Canadiens reach their first Stanley Cup Final since 1993 adding 10 points (4 G, 6 A) in 22 playoff games along the way.
