Kansas City Chiefs May Be Forced to Forfeit Game Against Broncos Due to Dangerous Travel Conditions

Today a new report has confirmed that the Kansas City Chiefs are currently stranded at the airport and could be forced to miss tomorrow's game against the Denver Broncos.

This week the United States is being ravaged by a major winter storm that is making its way across several states throughout the country.

One of the areas currently impacted by the ice and winter weather is Kansas City, Missouri home of the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Chiefs were expected to travel out of Kansas City this evening as they make their way to Denver to engage in a crucial divisional matchup against the Broncos.

The game is a key one for the Broncos who are looking to secure their spot in the NFL Playoffs.

However, according to reports the Kansas City Chiefs are stranded in the Kansas City International Airport due to the weather.

With the Chiefs stuck in the airport, they clearly will not be able to get to Denver tonight unless the weather clears up.

If they are unable to reach Denver tomorrow by the time the game begins at 1 pm the NFL will have a difficult decision to make.

With this week being the final week of the regular season rescheduling the game to a different day becomes incredibly difficult.

This leads to a potential scenario where the Chiefs forfeit and the Denver Broncos clinch a playoff spot without even having to play a game.

Over the next 12 hours, all eyes will be on the NFL and commissioner Roger Goodell as the league decides how to proceed heading into the playoffs.

Thankfully for the Chiefs, their plane was able to take off late on Saturday, and they will arrive in Denver in time for their game tomorrow.
