Brian Boyle's story to get back into the NHL at the age of 36 after sitting out the entire 2020-21 season is one of the best headlines going in the league right now. His son, however, is apparently not as impressed as the rest of us.

Boyle, who is now a member of the Pittsburgh Penguins, explained to media on Friday that his son was very excited to receive a Pens jersey recently, only to be disappointed immediately afterward when he realized it wasn't a Sidney Crosby one.

«I saw the disappointment in his face when he turned it around and it said 'Boyle, 11' on the back,» Boyle joked.

He also went on to add that his son was upset over the fact Crosby wasn't able to suit up on Thursday night. Many other Penguins fans likely feel the same way, as the captain has yet to play this season due to wrist surgery. The good news however is that he is very close to making his season debut, meaning Pens nation along with Boyle's son won't have to wait much longer to see No. 87 return to the ice.
