Things have gone from bad to worse for Evander Kane of the San Jose Sharks. After filing for bankruptcy recently in a bid to clear himself of major gambling debts, his current wife went on a tirade on social media Saturday making several accusations, including that he has placed bets on his own games, a huge no-no in the sports world. The NHL has now responded to those accusations.

"The League was made aware this evening of a post on social media alleging that San Jose Sharks Player Evander Kane bet on NHL games. The integrity of our game is paramount and the League takes these allegations very seriously," said the league in a statement.

"We intend to conduct a full investigation and will have no further comment at this time."

The NHL has the full support of the San Jose Sharks in its investigation.

This is not good news at all for Kane, who could be punished heavily if the accusations are deemed to be true. He may even face expulsion from the NHL.

Mrs. Kane took to Instagram on Saturday to put her husband on blast following receipt of an email that he had sent her, which had appeared to outline instructions on how she was to vacate the premises of their home and confirming details on when he planned to visit their daughter, Kensington.

Anna appeared furious on Instagram, publicly accusing Kane of partying every day, sometimes with hundreds of people and then returning home to his wife and his daughter, potentially exposing them to COVID-19, before calling the situation "a living nightmare".

Mrs. Kane would continue on, alleging that her husband has continued to live an extravagant and self-indulgent lifestyle, vacationing in Europe, vanishing for a week, leaving his pregnant wife home alone to pack up their lives while the bank prepares to take their house. She even accused the soon-to-be 30-year old NHLer of forcing her to sell her wedding ring to get by.

She also brought forward some very serious allegations of a potential match-fixing scandal orchestrated by Kane, who she says was gambling on his own games to win money.

Here is the full breakdown of Anna's rants against her husband:
