On Saturday, the Montreal Canadiens locked up RFA forward Artturi Lehkonen to a one-year contract worth $2.3 million, $100,000 less than he made on his previous contract.

The Piikkio, Finland native has spent his entire five-year NHL career with the Montreal Canadiens after being drafted by them in the second round, 55th overall in the 2013 Entry Draft. In 338 regular season games, Lehkonen has 120 points (61 G, 59 A), 90 penalty minutes, and is a -2.

With Lehkonen now signed, the Canadiens only have one more restricted free agent to lock up, Jesperi Kotkaniemi.

The Habs have plenty of options to work with on both wings going into the 2021-22 season. Lehkonen, along with Cole Caufield, Brendan Gallagher, Tyler Toffoli, Josh Anderson, Jonathan Drouin, Mike Hoffman, Joel Armia, Paul Byron, and Mathieu Perreault are all vying for the eight wing spots available on the Canadiens roster.
