There was some speculation that prior to the start of this season that Kane may not even play for the Sharks in 2020-21 and that the remainder of his 7-year, $49M contract with the Sharks could end up being voided. Obviously, Kane did play, and actually put together a pretty fantastic individual season, despite the Sharks resting near the basement of the league.
Well, here we are in another offseason and Kane is under fire once again, this time from his own wife, Anna Kane, on social media.
Kane's wife was throwing around some pretty heavy accusations, which, if true, paint a pretty rough picture of the Sharks winger's character and how his priorities are currently aligned.
Mrs. Kane took to Instagram on Saturday to put her husband on blast following receipt of an email that he had sent her, which had appeared to outline instructions on how she was to vacate the premises of their home and confirming details on when he planned to visit their daughter, Kensington.
Anna appeared furious on Instagram, publicly accusing Kane of partying every day, sometimes with hundreds of people and then returning home to his wife and his daughter, potentially exposing them to COVID-19, before calling the situation "a living nightmare".
Mrs. Kane would continue on, alleging that her husband has continued to live an extravagant and self-indulgent lifestyle, vacationing in Europe, vanishing for a week, leaving his pregnant wife home alone to pack up their lives while the bank prepares to take their house. She even accused the soon-to-be 30-year old NHLer of forcing her to sell her wedding ring to get by.
She also brought forward some very serious allegations of a potential match-fixing scandal orchestrated by Kane, who she says was gambling on his own games to win money.
Here is the full breakdown of Anna's rants against her husband:

If Kane's image wasn't already completely tarnished, it certainly looks like it may be after this latest wave of accusations.
Obviously, we don't know the full story. There could be, and probably is, a lot more to it - but with Mrs. Kane going public with these claims, it certainly places the spotlight on Kane and his apparent life struggles.
Some things are bigger than hockey, and if Kane truly is still struggling with his partying and his gambling addiction, I sincerely do hope that he can get the help that he needs in order to piece his life back together. If not for himself, then for his young family. Sad story, if true - especially for little Kensington, Anna and the baby she's carrying.
