The Tampa Bay Lightning and the Detroit Red Wings have announced a minor trade deal. The Red Wings are getting forward Mitchell Stephens from the Bolts in exchange for a sixth round draft pick in 2022.

Stephens, 24, was initially a second round draft pick (33rd overall) of the Lighting back in 2015. He's played 45 regular season games in the NHL throughout his career, recording three goals and seven points. He suited up for seven games with Tampa Bay this past season managing one assist.

Stephens represented Canada at the World Junior Hockey Championships twice, in 2017 and 2017. He won a silver medal in 2017.
