The Los Angeles Kings and Calgary Flames were set to meet on Wednesday, but due to some devastating fires, that game has now officially been postponed by the NHL.

Currently, the city of Los Angeles is being ravaged by devastating wild fires, with many people losing their homes, their livelihood and in some cases, tragically their lives.

At a time like this, hockey and sports in general are not even close to important, with an early report on Wednesday revealing that the league was considering a move to postpone the matchup between the Los Angeles Kings and the Calgary Flames.

According to Frank Seravalli, the NHL was closely monitoring the situation and keeping in contact with state officials, and now, they have made the official and correct decision to postpone the game to a later date.

While it may not be a fun decision for hockey fans that were looking forward to watching this game, this just isn't the time to be playing a hockey game in that city, as there are much more important things to worry about as the devastating fires continue to rage on.

At this point in time, we don't know when or potentially even where the game will take place, but right now the priority of the fans, players, officials and all their families in Los Angeles takes precedence, with plenty of work to do to get past this incredibly tragic situation.

We send out our thoughts to all those impacted by these fires, as this devastation can cause untold heartbreak and pain, so we hope that the city can get this under control so everyone there can go back to living and rebuilding their lives.
