There has been no shortage of JT Miller rumors over the last few weeks, and a new one has emerged with Elliotte Friedman linking Chicago as a destination.

There have been reports from Nick Kypreos and Elliotte Friedman that the Vancouver Canucks are willing to listen to offers for their superstars Elias Pettersson and JT Miller.

With reports of growing unrest because of tension between the two, management may have to make big changes.

On 'The Fan Hockey Show' Thursday, Elliotte Friedman weighed in on the situation in Vancouver. The Canucks would no doubt like to see the players work things out, but there's increasing skepticism that things can be harmonious.

«The stress of it all, and the fact that it's still a thing, has begun to spill over elsewhere into the organization. I think in their eyes it's not even so much about choosing one over the other, it's about 'I cannot believe that we still have to deal with this Like, really, this is still a thing?' I believe that everybody knows that Vancouver is open to listening, I believe they have already on both players and will continue to do so.»

General Manager Patrik Allvin's comments on Wednesday seemed like a way to get under Elias Pettersson and JT Miller's skin, while also enticing a potential trade partner.

Friedman had mentioned earlier in the season that the New York Rangers had interest in Miller, adding some smoke to the rumor mill.

He also threw out an interesting option, that if he were running the Chicago Blackhawks, he'd be in on Miller. The Blackhawks are in a rebuild with top prospects like Connor Bedard, and Miller's veteran presence fits in nicely.

If the Canucks do make a big move before the March 7 trade deadline, it would appear now that it's Miller who could be shipped out. Any deal involving him in a trade is a major shake-up to perhaps go a different direction by this team in the future.
