The Ottawa Senators beat the Pittsburgh Penguins on Saturday night, and now goaltender Tristan Jarry has called out a potential kicking violation on a key goal.

Over the past few years, the NHL has been very inconsistent on their calls regarding kicking violations on goals, and now another question has been raised over the rule.

During their 3-2 victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins, Drake Batherson scored a goal off an assist from Thomas Chabot, and while the lead up play was fantastic, it's safe to say that there's a hint of a kick in the play from the Senators forward.

One player that wasn't happy about the goal was unsurprisingly was Penguins goaltender Tristan Jarry, who was clearly unhappy with it and after the game he called it out in the media.

It's a sh**ty goal honestly, I don't know how you take that out of the game, but I don't think you should be able to stand there and let a guy shoot it off you. Like, he gets position on our player and just parks himself at the back post and their guy shoots it off him. It's a tough play and I think it's not part of hockey.

While Jarry was seemingly upset that someone can simply score by standing there and having the puck shot off him, but from the overhead view, it appears to be very clear that there was a kicking motion involved from Batherson.

At this point in time, it's tough to decipher exactly what is a kick and what isn't in the NHL, because the league have struggled to clearly define it over the years, so it's easy to see why Jarry is upset with the situation.

Unfortunately his complaint isn't going to change anything, and while he and other goaltenders would like to see things change, it's very unlikely that will happen anytime soon.
