The Minnesota Wild are off to a red-hot start in 2024/25, and now they've placed 30-year old veteran Devin Shore on waivers.

Through 31 games this season, the Minnesota Wild sit at 20-7-4, proving that they are one of the best teams in the NHL, and with depth combined with star power, this is a team to look out for in 2024/25.

They've made some solid moves as of late too, claiming veteran Travis Dermott on waivers last week, and now they've placed someone of their own on waivers in a surprising move on Monday afternoon.

According to top Insider Elliotte Friedman, the team have now placed 30-year old Devin Shore on waivers on Monday, with the veteran centre getting little action in Minnesota this season.

In 12 games this year, Shore has yet to tally a single point while posting a +1 differential, but in the AHL with the Iowa Wild he's been much better, putting together 2 goals and 10 points in 14 games played.

However, this move has plenty of salary cap implications for Minnesota, who clearly believe that Shore will pass through waivers, giving them a salary cap break during the roster freeze over Christmas, allowing the team to bring him back up as the new year approaches.

That move all hinges on whether or not he'll be claimed on waivers, and while the 500-game veteran has been solid throughout his NHL career, it's unlikely that he'll draw too much attention.

For now though, this is a bold move from Minnesota that could pay off huge for them down the line, and with the 30-year old playing solid hockey and allowing them great depth down the middle, it's safe to say that if he isn't claimed, he'll continue to be a good depth piece for this team as they chase their Stanley Cup goals.
