The New York Rangers are reportedly growing sick of the way general manager Chris Drury has run the team, leading to more drama and chaos in the locker room.

The team's relationship with the front office has apparently slowly been deteriorating over the past year or so.

The first move that rubbed a lot of the players the wrong way came when Chris Drury put veteran forward Barclay Goodrow on waivers.

He was subsequently claimed by the San Jose Sharks, a team that was on his no-trade list.

Since that move, things have only gotten worse. NHL analyst Steve Glenn reported today that the Rangers held a players-only meeting to discuss their general manager.

"There was a players-only meeting and it was not to discuss Peter Laviolette...that relationship is fine...Their main gripe is Chris Drury...They want him to either change his ways or be gone."

Apparently, the locker room is not happy with the way Goodrow left the team.

Furthermore, Trouba went through a very similar process. He revealed after he was traded that the team threatened to put him on waivers as well.

Trouba told reporters that he denied possible trades over the summer as he wanted to stay together with his family.

Notably, his wife is finishing her residency in New York for medical school and cannot leave until she is finished.

"I'll be honest, I was put in a position this summer to make a decision between my career and my family, and I chose my family. I would choose my family 100 times over again."

The former Rangers captain was clearly not happy with how everything played out, but he especially stressed how frustrating it was that all of this became public information.

"Don't like that it was made public necessarily, but I guess that's New York and how it happens. Made it kind of hard to play, but I'm excited to move forward. In my opinion, things could have been handled better. Not blaming anybody or anything, but it was just kind of an unfortunate end to my time in New York."

Regardless, his comments can certainly be seen as a shot against Chris Drury, which appears to be a rather popular take at the moment.
