There's been plenty of trade talk the last few months involving Pittsburgh Penguins goaltender Matt Murray. Pens GM Jim Rutherford made it clear he doesn't want to start next season with both Murray and Tristan Jarry still in the fold and has been taking calls. According to a report, another team is expressing interest.

"One possible destination for Pittsburgh goalie Matt Murray could be Chicago," said Bruce Garrioch, who covers the NHL for the Ottawa Sun. "Led to believe they've expressed some interest."

This would make sense. Blackhawks goaltender Corey Crawford will be a free agent come October 9th. While he's expressed some interest in remaining in Chicago, reports state the team wants him to take a bargain contract and it doesn't appear that the 35-year-old is interested in doing so.

Murray has been linked to several other teams in recent weeks, including the Edmonton Oilers and Detroit Red Wings. A recent report in The Athletic speculated that Rutherford may be in for a hard time getting a decent return as there are several goaltenders set to hit the free agent market next week and teams likely won't want to give up assets to obtain a netminder when they can simply sign one. It's worth noting that the Pens announced Saturday that they've signed Jarry to a new three-year deal worth $3.5 million AAV.
