With the buying out of the remaining year left on Henrik Lundqvist's contract by the New York Rangers comes tons of speculation on what his next move will be. According to his agent, the goaltender won't wait long to make that decision.

"Just spoke with Henrik Lundqvist's agent, Don Meehan, who told me Lundqvist has yet to tell him what his plans are for the future, but expects Lundqvist will make a decision on whether or not he still wants to play for another NHL team in fairly short order," said Ken Campbell of The Hockey News.

Many believe Lundqvist will choose to go back to his home country of Sweden to play with his twin brother Joel of Frolunda HC in the SHL. However, one has to think the netminder will receive at least a few offers in the NHL once free agency hit on October 9th.

Lundqvist appeared in 887 career games with the Rangers over 15 seasons (2005-06 - 2019-20), posting a 459-310-96 record, along with a 2.43 GAA, a .918 SV%, and 64 shutouts. He leaves the Blueshirts holding over 50 franchise records, including all-time records for wins, appearances by a goaltender, shutouts, save percentage (min. 75 appearances), playoff appearances (by either a skater or goaltender - 130), playoff wins (61), playoff shutouts (10), and playoff save percentage (min. 10 appearances - .921).
