Remember the "Uber incident"? In November of 2018, seven members of the Ottawa Senators at that time took an Uber in Phoenix, Arizona and made fun of Sens assistant coach Marty Raymond. After they left, the driver uploaded the footage from his dash cam to the internet, causing a big scandal (you can find the footage at the end of this article). While the incident included names like Matt Duchene, Chris Wideman, Thomas Chabot and Chris Tierney, Wideman was the only guy who was traded immediately. In fact, he ended up getting traded three times in four months and eventually ended up in Russia, playing in the KHL last season. He had a very good one, as the defenceman scored nine goals and recorded 41 points in 59 games. Due to that, it looks like he's returning to the NHL.

According to Chris Johnston of Sportsnet, The Montreal Canadiens are the frontrunners to land Wideman. He cannot sign a contract until Wednesday when free agency opens.

Meanwhile, former player turned analyst Georges Laraque believes two other free agents will be heading to Montreal along with Wideman. He states the Canadiens are expected to land defenceman David Savard and forward Cedric Paquette. Savard is coming off of a Stanley Cup win with the Tampa Bay Lightning where he faced the Habs in the final round. Paquette won a Cup with the Lightning in the previous season, but spent last year with both Carolina and Ottawa.
