Concerns emerged after a video of a nasty exchange between two Calgary Flames key players on the bench during a game went viral.

On Tuesday night, the Calgary Flames met the Toronto Maple Leafs on the ice and were served a real hockey clinic by their Canadian rivals, who won 6-3.

It reached a new high in the second period. The Leafs scored four straight goals, capitalizing on the Flames' defensive lapses.

After the Leafs' fourth goal, things heated up on the Flames' bench between two star players: Rasmus Andersson and Nazem Kadri got into a fiery exchange while returning to the bench.

It was rooted in a mistake in the Leafs zone: Andersson was caught deep in the offensive zone, and Kadri failed to cover him at the blue line, giving the Leafs an opportunity for an odd-man rush.

William Nylander scored on the play, his second goal of the night, before netting his third to complete the hat trick later in the game.

Check out Nylander's goal, as well as the heated discussion between Andersson and Kadri, in the videos below:

After the game, Flames head coach Ryan Huska opened up about the incident between Andersson and Kadri, saying that it happens often, because players care. He added that they always end up moving on quite quickly.

In his own words:

"That happens every game. Players argue with each other back and forth, they sort it out and then they come to a conclusion, they move on. That's one thing I love about our team, is when it does happen they shift gears right away."

"Not an issue at all for me, it happens pretty much every game."

MacKenzie Weegar had a similar opinion, and his words echoed his coach's:

"It's competitive guys that we've got on our team. We want to win every single night, we want to make the right plays. There's that competitive time of the game where guys are fiery and hold each other accountable at times, or are pissed at themselves."

"We're a competitive group, we want to win. We're fighting for a playoff spot here. You could kind of sense it tonight."

As of now, the Flames remain in playoff contention, at the second wild-card spot in the Western Conference, five points under the Colorado Avalanche, who they'll face tomorrow night on the ice.
