The Nashville Predators have officially placed a forward on the NHL waiver wire.

Following great additions to the roster in the last offseason, the Nashville Predators have been off to a very disappointing start to their 2024-25 season.

Unfortunately for fans of the team, Jonathan Marchessault and Steven Stamkos haven't been able to bounce back, and their struggles have continued in 2025.

In their last ten games, the Predators only managed to win twice, and it was two straight games against the San Jose Sharks, the only team beneath them in their division's rankings.

In breaking news, general manager Barry Trotz has made a roster move.

Indeed, he placed the 30-year-old veteran Vinnie Hinostroza on waivers.

The NHL insider Elliotte Friedman confirmed the news in the following post on X:

Hinostroza, selected by the Chicago Blackhawks in the sixth round of the 2012 draft, took part in 387 career games in the NHL and scored 153 points for the Blackhawks, Arizona Coyotes, Florida Panthers, Buffalo Sabres, Pittsburgh Penguins, and Predators.

This year, he only appeared in 13 games for Nashville, tallying two assists, including this one from last night's game against the Ottawa Senators, on the first goal of the game scored by Filip Forsberg:

He has another season on his two-year, $775,000 AAV contract signed in Nashville last summer, but could spend the rest of his deal with another organization.

This move is quite surprising, considering the Predators are likely going to be sellers at the upcoming trade deadline. Allowing other teams to acquire a player for nothing, when the Preds could've had the option to add him in a package deal in a bigger move, is quite hard to understand.

An update on Hinostroza's fate will be made on Wednesday afternoon.

Meanwhile, the Predators are preparing for their next game on Friday, against Connor Bedard and the Chicago Blackhawks.
