The Chicago Blackhawks are once again going to miss the playoffs, and that has their $76 million defenseman up for grabs as trade talks have heated up.

The Chicago Blackhawks will practice one more time before hosting the Edmonton Oilers in their backyard this week.

With rumors about a roster-shaping overhaul growing with the proximity of the trade deadline, new information comes out and reveals a move will happen by Chicago.

Seth Jones could be traded by the Blackhawks

Daily Faceoff's Frank Seravalli recently updated the Trade Board, and one of its biggest new additions is having defenseman Seth Jones, ranked at No. 8, in it.

As Jones' enormous salary burden in the past kept him a player who was not an easy sell, Seravalli feels that with the NHL's future salary expansion in three years, a move could become a reality.

He even speculates that the Blackhawks won't mind getting a little out of the box in an attempt to move a player who doesn't fit in with current rebuilding timelines. According to him, talks about Jones possibly moving out have started taking shape.

Apart from Jones, two other Blackhawks have joined Seravalli's top 30 trading targets.

Defensive stalwart Connor Murphy is at No. 14, and rumor-mongers wonder about a repeat performance in a move similar to Jake McCabe, whom they traded for with Toronto two years ago.

Ryan Donato, a forward, is at No. 17 and is courted, according to sources, by the Ottawa Senators. With discussion about trades getting warmer, the Blackhawks will have a hectic month in store for them.
