After two surprising names were placed on waivers on Sunday, there have been a further three players waived in the NHL on Monday, including veteran Devin Shore.

The NHL waiver wire is heating up as of late, with the news coming on Monday that both players that were waived on Sunday have officially passed through with no claim, but now, another three players have been waived.

The biggest of those three names is 400-game veteran Devin Shore, who has been waived for the second time since late December, as the team would like to keep the 30-year old veteran in the organization, but with the roster needing some shakeup, they've risked waivers once more for the veteran forward.

The second of three players on waivers also comes from Minnesota in the form of 25-year old centre Ben Jones, who has been given the longest stretch of NHL games in his career thus far in 2024/25.

Unfortunately, in those 25 games he's played, the former seventh-round pick is yet to record a point, and after some solid production with the Calgary Wranglers and Iowa Wild in the AHL over the past few years, perhaps his future is best served as solid depth and a good player at that level.

The final player waived according to Elliotte Friedman is 23-year old centre Gage Goncalves of the Tampa Bay Lightning, who has just one goal and 2 points through 26 games this season, with the talented forward clearly not ready to take the leap in 2024/25.

In the AHL however, he's got six points in five games played with the Syracuse Crunch, and the team now believe his best development opportunities will come in the AHL, but given his age and his potential, expect him to be the player that draws most interest in the next 24 hours.
