The Seattle Kraken are one of the few teams that are concretely out of the playoff race at this point in the season, and Oliver Bjorkstrand has had enough.

Acquired by the Seattle Kraken in 2022 from the Columbus Blue Jackets, Bjorkstrand has accumulated 132 points in 206 games with the team.

Veterans Oliver Bjorkstand and Andre Burakovsky Demand Trade

Unfortunately, as the team struggles, the 588-game veteran has demanded a trade, alongside fellow veteran former 20-goal scorer Andre Burakovsky.

Elliotte Friedman commented on the Kraken, who recently traded defenseman Will Borgen to the New York Rangers in a deal for former second overall pick Kaapo Kakko.

Reportedly, Borgen had also requested a trade, suggesting that many Kraken veterans have come to their wits end with the consistent disappointment in the organization.

The Kraken have solid young pieces in former second overall pick Matty Beniers, now-emerging former fourth overall pick Shane Wright, the recently-acquired Kakko, and prospects Berkly Catton and Eduard Sale, but the team looks lost overall.

Big contract signings of Brandon Montour (which looks to be a great deal), and Chandler Stephenson (which looks disastrous only one year into the seven-year term) suggest the team thinks it can compete, but with an 18, 23, and 3 record, they are sitting with the 5th worst points percentage in the NHL.

We will see if the team can get back on track, but as the trade deadline approaches they must focus on selling these veteran pieces who have given up on the organization.
