Elias Pettersson was called out by his general manager Patrik Allvin for his lack of maturity.

In the past months, the main topic in Vancouver has been the alleged feud between J.T. Miller and Elias Pettersson.

Even if the two players stated many times that nothing was going on between them, even their organization didn't deny it.

Patrik Allvin, the general manager of the team, added fuel to the fire when he revealed that "anything is possible" when he was asked to say if he was trying to trade Pettersson.

Pettersson, 26, signed an eight-year, $11,600,000 extension in Vancouver. After 34 games this season, he has 28 points, including 10 goals, but more is expected from him.

For Allvin, the solution is simple: Pettersson needs to grow up.

Here's what he said:

"It comes back to expectations and preparation, how you prepare yourself. I don't believe that he was aware of just how hard it was going to be. Just because you achieve one thing to get a long-term extension life just gets harder.

You haven't really accomplished anything. You're not even halfway there (to winning a Stanley Cup). And then obviously the mental part comes in there, too, and suddenly you feel the pressure.

Petey has shown up to this point that he is an extremely talented, quality player that could and should be a No. 1 centre. I believe in him. I believe that he's capable.

(But) he needs to mature and understand that there are certain expectations and it does not get easier. And you need to face the music when things don't go well. Is it (a trade) possible? I guess I would say anything is possible."

The Canucks fell to the fourth rank in the Pacific Division after winning only three out of their last ten games.

If the team wants to reach the playoffs, they'll need to win more games, and Pettersson will need to focus on playing over anything else.
