Today at the World Junior Championships Team Slovakia has received some frustrating news as star forward Miroslav Satan Jr. will miss the rest of the tournament.

Over the last 5 seasons, Slovakia has become a key contender during the World Junior Championships being able to give countries like the USA and Canada a run for their money in head-to-head games.

This year's competition for Slovakia was supposed to be led by the son of former NHLer and hockey icon Miroslav Satan.

Satan Jr. a draft pick of the Washington Capitals was expected to be a key contributor for the team and through the first three games for Slovakia had several opportunities to impact the game.

Unfortunately against Slovakia's rival Czechia Satan Jr. suffered a serious injury that led to him playing just over 8 minutes of ice time.

Today ahead of the Slovakian game against Khazakstan it was revealed that Satan Jr. would not be playing due to the injury he sustained.

Now according to a report, Satan Jr. will miss the rest of the World Junior Championship Tournament due to that very injury.

Satan Jr. a draft pick of the Washington Capitals was hoping to use the World Junior Tournament as a springboard to improve his play heading into the second half of his season in the USHL.

With the Sioux Falls Stampede in the USHL Satan Jr. has 3 points in 19 games.

Hopefully, despite this injury, Satan Jr. can return soon and find himself back in the lineup soon and get his career jump-started as he looks to follow in his father's NHL footsteps.
