Los Angeles Kings forward Brendan Lemieux had some choice words on twitter after the Spittin' Chiclets account posted a fight with the caption: «Can't have a big hit without a tilly anymore.»

Lemieux clapped back at the account and fighting nay-sayers with a comment on his opinion of physical play and fighting in hockey.

"Nothing wrong with someone sticking up for a teammate. Under any circumstance period. If you play physical be ready to answer the bell. There's a reason fighting is allowed and it always should be. Keep players accountable. Don't like it? Don't play physical," Lemieux posted on twitter.

The more physical side of the NHL seems to have been making a bit of a comeback this season after notable players, including Tom Wilson, have been making noise around the league by throwing their weight around and starting scrums.

Honestly, standing up for your teammates after a big hit is something that is needed in hockey. Without it, grinders and enforcers would just continue to hunt down and prey on star players without any punishment in return, and, of course, who doesn't love a big tilly?
