The Regina Pats are one of the worst teams in the WHL, and now, blue liner Tyson Buzckowski has now left the team for personal reasons after the team have gotten off to a horrendous start in the 2024/25 campaign.

A few seasons ago, the Regina Pats were must-see with future No. 1 overall pick Connor Bedard, but since his departure in 2023, things have only gone downhill from there.

In 2024/25, the team have a 9-19-6 record through 34 games played, sitting them second last in the WHL's Eastern Conference ahead of only the Moose Jaw Warriors, and now it appears things are getting worse.

As reported by the Pats official social media accounts, the team are parting ways with 2006-born defenseman and Saskatchewan native Tyson Buczkowski, who has left the team for personal reasons after a tough start to the new season.

It's unclear exactly what the future holds for the Saskatoon native, and without an NHL club at this point in his career due to a lack of standout performances and production at the WHL level, we may be seeing the last of him at a high level in hockey.

In 20 games this season, the 5-foot-11 blue liner has a solid 2 goals and 9 points, but like the rest of the team has struggled to impact winning at a high level, but with personal reasons cited as the motive behind his departure, we hope that things are okay.

After many great, successful years, the Pats are now at a cross roads, with the team needing to develop their squad in a huge way before they become competitive in a tight WHL again, with Buczkowski's departure potentially just the first of many from a struggling organization.
