With a series soon to begin between the St. Louis Blues and Colorado Avalanche, Ryan O'Reilly spoke to media on Thursday night and appeared very confident that his team can knock off the Avs, who are heavy favorites.

«It's exciting for us,» O'Reilly said. «We know we can beat this team and do some damage here. We know that they have a lot of talent over there and they work hard, but for us, it's an exciting challenge. We're going to have some fun and we're going to beat them.»

This is a pretty bold statement for O'Reilly, as the Avalanche just captured the President's Trophy last night for the best record in the entire NHL. The Blues on the other hand struggled at points throughout the season and finished fourth in the West Division with a 27-20-9 record.

For the Blues to win this series, O'Reilly will have to be at his best. The 30-year-old, who is regarded as one of the best two-way forwards in the entire game, had 24 goals and 54 points in 56 games this season.
