Mitchell Miller, the 18-year-old recently drafted by the Arizona Coyotes then dumped after his troubling past came to light, reportedly has an option for continuing his hockey career. According to the website Championat, MIller has interest from teams in the KHL, specifically SKA Saint Petersburg.

Miller was selected in the fourth round by the Coyotes in October. The team later renounced his rights after reports that highlighted Miller was convicted of bullying and assaulting a black developmentally disabled teen when both were 14-years-old. Following that, the University of North Dakota decided to remove Miller from their hockey program, although he is allowed to continue his studies there.

The KHL is known for taking players that the NHL won't touch. A more recent example would be Brendan Leipsic, who was dropped from the Washington Capitals after leaked messages from an Instagram group that included misogynistic and reprehensible remarks.

One of the main issues in the Miller story is that he reportedly failed to apologize to the boy he bullied, Isaiah Meyer-Crothers. Meyer-Crothers' mother has stated on several occasions that a second boy involved in the bullying offered a personal apology to her son, which was accepted. She claims Miller never did.
