Arizona Coyotes general manager Bill Armstrong announced Monday morning that the team has signed forward Christian Fischer to a two-year, one-way contract. As per Club policy, the terms of the contract were not disclosed.

“We are very pleased to sign Christian to a multi-year contract,” said Armstrong. “Christian is a hard-working, power forward who is strong along the boards. He will add size and toughness to our forward group.”

Fischer, 23, has spent the last three seasons with the Arizona Coyotes. In 56 games this past season, he posted six goals and nine points. He also appeared in nine post season games, where he chipped in with one assist. While the past two seasons haven't been great offensively, he proved in his rookie season he can help with the offence, posting 15 goals and 33 points in 79 games.

The Chicago, Illinois native has played in a total of 213 career NHL games to this point. During that time, he has scored 35 goals and 63 points. The Coyotes are the only NHL organization he has been a part of to this point, as they selected him with the 32nd overall pick at the 2015 NHL Entry Draft.
