Finnish team suspends team activities due to possible COVID-19 exposure
A team from the Finnish top division, KalPa, has suspended team activities until October 26th due to a possible COVID-19 outbreak. KalPa played against Karpat on Friday night, and one of their players had tested positive for COVID-19, and played the game despite having the virus. Upwards of 13 players on KalPa possibly were exposed to the virus. The league used data from it's in game player tracking system to map out how many players were possibly exposed to the one who has the virus.
Once finding out the news, Karpat immediately began a quarantine period until October 24, while KalPa's will last until October 26th.
KalPa was scheduled to play three games between now and the end of their quarantine period, but now those games will have to be re-scheduled to a later date. Those games were: October 21st vs KooKoo, October 23rd vs SaiPa, and October 24th vs Karpat.
Among the players on KalPa's roster is Montreal Canadiens defenceman Otto Leskinen, who made his NHL debut last season.

KalPa was founded in 1929, and play in the Finnish city of Kuopio. They are currently owned by former NHLers Sami Kapanen (also head coach), Kimmo Timonen, and Scott Hartnell. During the history of their franchise, they have never won the top division championship, but won the second division championship in back-to-back years during the 2003-04 and 2004-05 seasons. KalPa also won the Spengler Cup in 2018.
Other than Sami Kapanen and Kimmo Timonen, some other notable players include Olli Jokinen, Kasperi Kapanen, and Artturi Lehkonen.
