Today, Philadelphia Flyers general manager Chuck Fletcher announced that the team has re-signed goaltender Brian Elliott to a one-year contract worth $1.5 million dollars. Elliott was set to be an unrestricted free agent on October 9th.

Elliott, 35, played in 31 games with the Flyers during the regular season. He had a record of 16 wins, 7 losses, 4 overtime/shootout losses, a 2.87 GAA, an .899 save percentage, and 2 shutouts. He also got into 3 playoff games, and put up a record of 1 win, 1 loss, a 2.15 GAA, and a .911 save percentage.

"Brian is a quality, veteran goaltender who is also an important part of our leadership group. His preparation and work ethic are exemplary." "With Brian and Carter, we believe we have a strong goaltending duo who have each had success and work very well with each other." General manager Chuck Fletcher said.

Elliot seemed happy to be returning to the Flyers for next season. "I'm proud to remain with the Flyers." "I believe in this group and I'm excited for the future and what we can do as a team." He said.

In 474 career games, Elliott has a record of 242 wins, 147 losses, 47 overtime/shootout losses, a 2.50 GAA, a .912 save percentage and has 40 shutouts. In 48 career playoff games, he has 17 wins, 26 losses, a 2.72 GAA, a .904 save percentage, and 1 shutout.

Elliott will continue to provide some stability for the Flyers next season. The tandem of him and Carter Hart proved this year that the Flyers are a force to be reckoned with, and that they can face any challenge thrown their way.
