With the 2023 NHL Draft just over one week away, hockey fans are getting excited for one of the most transformative days on the hockey calendar.

While the top ten and even most of the first round is somewhat easy for experts to predict, ranking goaltenders is a daunting procedure for draft diehards.

Top Draft Analysts Assemble

This year all the premier draft gurus got together to forecast which goalie is ranked highest on their boards.
Goaltending in hockey is such an inexact science in the draft that the vast majority of draft eligible goalies will never see the NHL.
But given that it's arguably the most important position in hockey, team are always looking for gems in the rough.

The List

As mentioned 32 draft scouts got together to give their top goalie in the draft, and here's what they came up with:
The goalie who was at the top of the board for the most scouts is Czech Michael Hrabal.
The University of Massachusetts commit spent last season playing for the Omaha Lancers of the USHL posting a 2.86 Goals Against Average and a .908 Save Percentage in 31 games.
The highest Hrabal appeared on a board was 25th overall by The Hockey News' Ryan Kennedy

Runner Up

Coming in at 2nd place is Trey Augustine of the USNTDP. Augustine received 10 votes.
Augustine played for the American Team at the World Juniors and posted a 2.85 Goals Against Average and a .891 Save Percentage.
Augustine played much better for the USA Under-18 Team with a 1.61 GAA and a .934 Save Percentage
The highest Augustine was ranked was 25th overall by H+L Media's Aaron Itovich.

Best of the Rest

Other goalies receiving votes were Carson Bjarnson and Jacob Fowler.
The NHL Draft takes place June 28th in Nashville.
