Donald Marshall, who won five Stanley Cups with the Montreal Canadiens and was part of a team dynasty has passed away at the age of 92

The last living member of an NHL dynasty has passed away at the age of 92. From 1956 to 1960, Donald "Donnie" Marshall won five straight Stanley Cups with the Montreal Canadiens before going on to play with other teams, and to compete in more than 1000 NHL games.

The Montreal Canadiens announced Donald Marshall's death in a release, adding the entire organization is in mourning.

"Marshall made his NHL debut in 1951-52, playing one game with the Canadiens before permanently establishing himself with the Habs during the 1954-55 season. The Montreal-born forward played 585 games with the Canadiens between 1951 and 1963, with whom he recorded 254 points (114G, 140A). Marshall mainly played on a line with Phil Goyette and Claude Provost during his time with the Canadiens.

Marshall played in 1,176 career NHL games with Montreal, the New York Rangers, Buffalo Sabers and Toronto Maple Leafs. The 5'10», 160-pound role player scored 265 goals and added 324 assists before retiring at the end of the 1971-72 season."

Sadly, Donald Marshall's death came just a couple of days after beloved Boston Bruins goaltender John Henderson passed away at the age of 91. Henderson played his NHL games at the same time as Marshall was playing for the Canadiens.

During his time with the Montreal Canadiens, Donald Marshall played in five straight NHL All-Star games from 1956 to 1960. He represented them again in 1961, and made the All-Star game as a New York Ranger in 1968. Our sincere condolences to the family, friends and fans of Donnie Marshall.
