A former coach of a Western Conference hockey team is now a member of the New Jersey Devils. Several reports have stated that the Devils are hiring Travis Green as assistant coach to fill the position left vacant by Andrew Brunette when he was hired as head coach of the Nashville Predators.

Options

According to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman, Green had several options to choose from, including the Calgary Flames and Toronto Maple Leafs, but ultimately chose the Devils.

Vancouver

It was a tough run for Green in Vancouver. In parts of five seasons with the team, he made the playoffs just once, in 2019-20 when the Canucks were eliminated in the second round by Vegas. Green was head coach of Vancouver from 2017 to 2021.
