According to TSN's Chris Johnston, the Philadelphia Flyers have claimed former first round pick Kieffer Bellows off waivers from the New York Islanders.

Bellows, 24, was selected 19th overall in 2016 by the Islanders and so far, hasn't lived up to expectations as a first round pick. Since Bellows made his NHL debut during the 2019-20 season, he's appeared in 68 games, where he's recorded 25 points.

The Edina (Minnesota) native has only played in one game this season, but in 45 games last year, he put up 19 points (six goals, 13 assists), 19 penalty minutes and was a minus-one.

In other waivers related news, New York Rangers defenceman Ben Harpur and Seattle Kraken netminder Christopher Gibson were placed on the wire on Thursday. Both players were signed to one-year, two-way contracts earlier today.

Harpur, 27, has gone point-less in four games for the Rangers' AHL affiliate in Hartford, while adding two penalty minutes and is a minus-three.

Gibson, a native of Karkkila (Finland), appeared in one game for Seattle's AHL affiliate, the Coachella Valley Firebirds. In 22 minutes during that game, Gibson made five saves, but allowed four goals.
