Since the firing of Dave Tippett, things have turned around in a big way for the Edmonton Oilers, who have won all four games with Jay Woodcroft behind the bench and now sit third in the Pacific Division.

While no one has flat out said it, it seems as though relieving Tippett of his duties was something the players needed to have happen. The first indication we had of this was Warren Foegele earlier in the week saying it was nice to finally know what they are supposed to be doing on the ice. Now, another player has chimed in as well, as Derek Ryan, another bottom-six player, seemed to take multiple shots at his former bench boss after Thursday night's win versus the Anaheim Ducks.

It is worth noting that Ryan's play has picked up in a big way with the addition of Woodcroft, as he is currently on a three-game point streak and has four points since his hiring. With Tippett behind the bench, he had just six points through 40 contests.
