Barrie Colts goaltender Mack Guzda finally made a decision to go pro on Monday, and he signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Florida Panthers.

The 21-year-old has had an outstanding season in the OHL with the Owen Sound Attack and Barrie Colts. So far with Barrie, Guzda posted an 11-4-1 record with a .925 SV percentage and 2.17 goals against average, as well as recording two shutouts. In 10 more appearances with Owen Sound, Guzda went 5-4-1 with a .915 SV% and 3.20 GAA.

After posting a 14-4-1 record since October 30, Guzda was named the OHL goalie of the month for both December and January. He has been one of the best goalies in the OHL since being traded from the Owen Sound Attack to the Barrie Colts.

Elliotte Friedman noted about a week ago that the Maple Leafs, Rangers, Penguins, and Predators were all front-runners for the young goalie. The Ducks, Islanders, and Hurricanes were all also rumored to be interested in his services.
