Matvei Michkov is off to an incredible start this season, and after his latest game winner, he finished it off with an epic quote.

The Philadelphia Flyers knew they landed a star in the 2023 NHL Draft in Matvei Michkov, and in his rookie campaign he's showing what a great decision the team made when drafting him.

In 19 games this year surrounded by a few John Tortorella healthy scratches, the 19-year old has tallied 7 goals and 16 points, making him one of the top candidates for the Calder Trophy alongside Dustin Wolf, Logan Stankoven and Macklin Celebrini.

Despite being scratched by John Tortorella several times, Michkov has risen to the occasion several times for the Flyers, with the fans in attendance eagerly awaiting every big moment when he's on the ice.

His biggest moment of the year came on Saturday in a victory over Connor Bedard and the Chicago Blackhawks, with Michkov taking a pass from Travis Sanheim and Travis Konecny after a beautiful setup to finish the game with an overtime winner.

This was another incredible moment in the stellar rookie campaign for Michkov, and after the game, he added an epic quote to his highlight reel as he had this to say following the winner:

If there is a moment, then you need to (finish) it in cold blood

While it wasn't the most difficult finish, it was a pressure packed moment for a rookie, and to take the finish so confidently and comfortably shows that he's ready whenever a big moment arrives.

On top of that, this shows the killer instinct that so many young players coming into the NHL take years to develop, and if he can continue working on that, the Flyers may have a franchise cornerstone for years to come.
