The Toronto Maple Leafs went into Madison Square Garden on Wednesday night and started the game really strong. At the end of the first period, the Maple Leafs were leading the Rangers, 3-1, but that's when the collapse began, with New York scoring five unanswered goals to win the game, 6-3.

Following the game, Maple Leafs head coach Sheldon Keefe called out his team saying they were 'soft and purposeless'.

"We got exposed today for being a team that was just soft. Soft and purposeless and just kind of playing the game hoping it was gonna work out," Keefe said. "This one should bother us greatly."

The Maple Leafs are now 2-2-1 in their last five games and will look to turn things around on Saturday night when they head to UBS Arena to take on the New York Islanders.
