This past week, Vegas Golden Knights owner Bill Foley got many excited when he suggested Jack Eichel would be ready to make both his season and Golden Knights debut in a couple of weeks.

It seemed very optimistic given the fact he had a neck procedure just two months ago, but many took him for his word given his obvious connections to team info. It appears he may have jumped the gone however, as head coach Pete DeBoer told the media on Wednesday we won't see the 25-year-old for a while.

«I don't know what the timeframe will be,» DeBoer said. «It'll be at least a month or two months before he plays.»

While that timeline will be disappointing to many fans, it does provide some benefits to this team, mainly in that they won't have to worry about making a trade right away. For those unaware, management will need to make some moves to fit in Eichel's $10 million cap hit whenever he is ready to return. It will be interesting to see how they make it all work, but if DeBoer's assessment on Eichel is correct, they won't have to make an immediate decision.
