Some surprising news out of the hockey world Tuesday. According to several reports, the Pittsburgh Penguins ownership group, which consists of former team star Mario Lemieux, is looking to sell the team, and a buyer has apparently been found.

"Fenway Sports Group, the company that owns the Boston Red Sox, may complete a deal this week to buy the Pittsburgh Penguins, [Wall Street Journal]
reports. The Pens have been owned by Ron Burkle and Mario Lemieux since 1999," said TSN's Rick Westhead.

Fenway also owns Liverpool F.C., a Premier League Football team.

At this point, there's no word on what the terms of the deal might be. The value of the Penguins franchise in 2020 was estimated to be around $650 million USD. There's also no word on why Burkle and Lemieux want out of owning the team.
