Following Montreal's morning skate at Madison Square Garden on Monday, head coach Dominique Ducharme gave several updates regarding the status of his players ahead of tonight's tilt against the Rangers.

After missing the last six games, forward Jonathan Drouin will return to the lineup tonight. On November 2nd, Drouin was struck in the head with a puck during a game against Detroit. He would end up going to hospital for evaluation, but returned to the Bell Centre to watch the Canadiens fall in overtime, 3-2.

Ducharme said that it was determined that Jake Allen is suffering from a concussion relating to Saturday's game against Detroit and is day-to- day. Habs defenceman Jeff Petry pushed Red Wings captain Dylan Larkin into Allen late in the first period. Allen would leave the game soon after the collision and was replaced by Samuel Montembeault.

After being called up following Saturday's game, goaltender Cayden Primeau will make his first appearance in a Canadiens uniform this season tonight in New York. In nine games with the Laval Rocket this season, Primeau has a record of 4-4-0 with a 2.41 G.A.A., a .916 save percentage, and two shutouts.

Mike Hoffman has been placed on injured reserve with an upper-body injury that he suffered during Saturday night's loss against the Detroit Red Wings. Ducharme added that they expect Hoffman to miss at least one week.

Finally, forward Adam Brooks has been placed on waivers by the Canadiens. It's very likely he'll be snagged by someone before Wednesday's deadline.

Tonight's contest will mark Montreal's first game at Madison Square Garden since December 6th 2019. Puck drop is set for 7pm ET on TSN2 and RDS.
