After the Boston Bruins game on Thursday night, Taylor Hall had an interview quote that will gain him a ton of praise in the coming weeks, months, and possibly even years.

While many members of the Blackhawks organization, along with some other hockey figures throughout the league, have seemed to almost defend the team, Hall took a completely different approach. Instead of saying no comment or mentioning that he has relationships with some involved in the situation, he acknowledged the fact that hockey culture needs to change.

«Our hearts go out to Kyle Beach,» Hall started off. «We were playing junior at a similar time and it's just so unfortunate that he had to go through that. We were talking about it last night and everyone just feels terrible for him and hope that he can get some solace at the end of this."

«Every culture needs to keep getting better, and hockey's no different. This is a game that's a little bit of an old boy's club and there's definitely some secrecy and things that need to change and hopefully they can. You never want to think of an incident like this (with) positives coming from it because it's been so terrible but there needs to be changes and unfortunately people need to be held accountable.»

Good on Hall for saying what many in the hockey community seem to be failing to do. This entire situation is completely appalling and is absolute proof that the culture in this game needs to change. Players like Hall are what make that change possible.
