Kyrou, 23, has agreed to a two-year deal with the Blues worth a total of $5.6M ($2.8M AAV) following a breakout 2020-21 season, during which the Toronto, Ontario native posted a career-high 14 goals and 35 points in 55 games.
The 2nd-round pick in 2016 (35th-overall) could be in line for an increase in responsibility in 2021-22 if winger Vladimir Tarasenko is moved, which appears likely after the oft-injured winger had requested a trade earlier this offseason.
With Kyrou having agreed to terms, the Blues just need to lock up Zach Sanford and Robert Thomas to new deals. The team currently has about $3.5M with which to work, but can exceed the salary cap by up to 10% during the offseason, as long as they make the necessary moves to become cap compliant prior to the beginning of the regular season.
